Lion Heart ENCOURAGE – Chief waster of time.

The chief waster of time

Humming like small god’s in each palm,

pulling hours into it's forceful beam.

We count notifications instead of breaths,

trade dawn for scrolling through the night.

Put it down to live a little, now:

feel soil beneath your bare feet,

let the cool dew settle cares,

the morning breeze a soft, honest treat.

Life drips away in pixel'd streams;

step out, unmute the world, inhale.

Listen: birds tally moments better than apps —

God's day is wide, the phone is small and pale.

How did God, our God intend.

With glowing screen to brave this world,

Or with face, fresh face, to face this world.

These blatant enslavers only 5inches tall,

Rob us of God’s glory, God’s mystery, God’s call.

A prayer of repentance:

God, our God, we have set our phones up as god’s in our lives. Trusting it to guide our steps, trusting it to inform our decisions. We repent, please forgive us. God, our God, we have made idols of our phones. Giving it far more time than to you dear God. Giving it our precious thoughts and the best of our days. We repent, we turn away from the 5” overlords, back to the Living only True God. Please forgives us, in Jesus name.

Bless you brother!

Your Brother in Christ,

Stanley
