Intro:
Hey man of God! It is often said that what you behold, you will become. In today’s life with so much competing for your attention, for your time, for your heart, it is important that we remain calibrated in terms of our priorities.
Now I know that you guys reading this post have your priorities well sorted, in principle, but we all know that practically, that’s not always how it works out.
Encouragement:
But let’s start our conversation in scripture. We find the base for this saying in 2 Cor 3:18. Let’s read it from the Amplified Bible translation; ‘And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.’
Further to that let’s read 1 John 3:2, again in the Amplified: ‘Beloved, we are [even here and] now children of God, and it is not yet made clear what we will be [after His coming]. We know that when He comes and is revealed, we will [as His children] be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is [in all His glory].’
Seeing Jesus one day is going to change us for sure, but while we are here on earth we are also being formed into the thing that captures our attention the most. And what is that? What captures your attention the most? What drives you? What is your priority and lastly, why are you here?
I know these are challenging questions, but as is usual for Lion Heart we don’t beat around the bush. These matters are important, and should be talked about openly.
So, who, or what, is on the thrown of your life?
Let me take another angle. Society needs Godly men! You ARE such a man in the making. We don’t come out of the womb perfectly formed and ready to roll. There is a developmental process. And long process. And what’s more is that we have an enemy trying to derail this development. It is real. The fight is real. The outcome is eternal.
I don’t want to make this into a witch hunt, and neither should you. What I am suggesting though, is that we open our hearts to our King. We open our hearts to the working of His Holy Spirit. I’m asking that you consider leaning into Him, that we seek Him. He is a treasure worth far more than Gold or all worldly wealth.
Psalm 119:36-37: Incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in Your ways.
His ways are life! And as we walk in His ways we are changed, we grow, we develop, we are refined into His image.
