Lion Heart ENCOURAGE - The new battlefield

Hey man of God! If we think of the ‘busy-ness’ of our lives today, and compare that to say David, the shepherd and the king, particularly in his early years, his formative years, the times he spent alone in the wilderness with the sheep. Do you think his live was as busy as ours are today?

Given that David wrote just about half of the Psalms, and they absolutely overflow with a rich and personal revelation of God and His Majesty, do you think that David would have gained that intimate revelation of God if his childhood was as full as ours and that of our offspring?

Knowing God comes at a cost. Faith is like wifi, the further you are from the source the weaker it gets! Make the time!

Encouragement:

The new battlefield. As young boys all of us dreamt of doing heroic things. We imagined ourselves to be policemen, firemen and often soldiers. Saving lives, righting wrongs and fighting the good fight. Being a HERO is in our DNA.

But yet, today’s world has removed all the ‘danger’. Everything has to be super safe and over sanitized. We’re a far cry from the pioneering men that once tamed this planet. But our cry to be a HERO still rings in us.

But has it really become that safe?

In the pre-industrial age, if you saw a troop of bandits riding over the hill over ahead, you wouldn’t think twice about whether it as a ‘super safe’ situation, right? No, you would know this is danger! And you would need to react accordingly to safe your families lives.

Or if you were sailing the seas, and you saw a black skull and cross-bone flag coming over the horizon, would you think ‘I wonder who that is, let’s sail closer and say hello’. NO! You would ready yourself to defend your lives and your cargo.

But today things have changed. Danger doesn’t come sailing over the horizon flying a black skull and cross-bone flag anymore. But the dangers are just as real, and they need just as real a response from us.

2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.

You see, what we believe drives how we see the world, see each other, and, it drives how we live our lives. Whether that be in a Godly way, or an ungodly way. Loving or unloving.

What we believe about ourselves drives how we treat both ourselves and others around us. What we believe, the ideas we nurture, become the reality we live in.

Our ideas are powerful.

Now although we don’t swing a 6 shooter anymore, we still have a battle on our hands. The battlefield of ideas. Our ideas, your ideas, their ideas, etc. Ideologies. These ideologies are what drive everything in the world. Whether there’s peace, or war. Whether you love or hate. Whether you curse or bless. Whether you sink or swim.

You see, the battle in our minds is the battle for eternity. Do you believe that there is a God? Do you believe that Jesus is Lord of all? Do you choose to believe what Jesus says about you? Do you choose to see and accept His love for you?

These are the cornerstones of our society. Our world is built on ideologies. But are they righteous or unrighteous ideologies?

So here’s where you come in. Do you have the courage to arm yourself with righteous ideas? Do you have the courage to reject the lies that the enemy plants in your mind?

Keeping our minds stayed on Christ is a battle! it’s an important battle to win.

It has eternal consequences.

Actually, it’s far more important than defending your ship against those pirates. Pirates could steal your belongings. Pirates could take your physically life. As bad as those things are, losing the opportunity to know Jesus because you believed the wrong thing can have ETERNAL consequences.

But it goes further than that, bringing harm to another person’s faith because you continue to walk in that loveless or faithless manner, can also have ETERNAL consequences. There are many ‘smaller’ mindsets that also have BIG effects.

My encouragement to you to you men today, is to fight the good fight of Faith.

Do something heroic, do something eternally courageous:

-            Arm yourselves with the Word of truth.

-            Choose to partner with Truth everyday

-            And be courageous enough to reject the lies that the enemy bombards you with.

Stand up for TRUTH.
